NEC MultiSync® EA221WMe - The environmental choice with new backlight technology
Published:  15 May, 2009

NEC Display Solutions is proud to present to the market its NEC MultiSync® EA221WMe, representing the new benchmark in environmentally sustainable displays utilising highly efficient panel technology requiring only two backlight tubes but without any compromise to picture quality. This ground-breaking widescreen LCD demonstrates a greater than 30 percent energy saving as compared with more conventional monitors. Outstanding environmental credentials are underlined by its EPEATTM environmental certification. The unique NEC Carbon Footprint Counter provides an up-to-date overview of the LCD display's CO2 savings. With its substantially low TCO (total cost of ownership) the NEC MultiSync® EA221WMe is particularly suited for deployment within environmentally-conscious SMB and corporate business sectors.

By saving on two backlights the NEC MultiSync® EA221WMe demonstrates outstanding energy efficiency and features a low overall power consumption of 26 Watts and just 19 Watts in Eco Mode. Positioned for ease of use at the front of the display, the new NEC One Touch Eco Button instantly allows the display's brightness to be reduced to enable even greater energy savings. The NEC MultiSync® EA221WMe is also one of only a few monitors on the market to achieve EPEATTM "Gold" certification (black model only). In addition the NEC MultiSync® EA221WMe satisfies all the requirements for the forthcoming Energy Star 5.0 specification.

With its technical features, the NEC MultiSync® EA221WMe easily satisfies all the typical requirements for standard office deployment. The TN panel offers superb horizontal and vertical viewing angles of up to 176 degrees (at a contrast ratio of 5:1) as well as a response time of 5 ms. With the new backlight technology and its highly effective light uniformity distribution, the 250 cd/m2 brightness as well as a contrast ratio of 1000:1 also guarantee an excellent viewing experience. Flexible deployment for office applications is supported by the analogue connector and the digital DVI-D interface with HDCP.

Ergonomic flexibility at the workplace is provided by the proven NEC MultiSync® EA series ergonomic functionality including height adjustability of up to 110 mm and pivot mode allowing operation in either landscape or portrait format. Additional VESA mounting options extend the ergonomic performance of the LCD display, whilst the practical handgrip to the rear of the screen allows for easy transportation.
