The hidden peril in your PC
Published:  25 March, 2009

You use anti-bacterial gel to wipe down surfaces, scrub the bath with bathroom cleaner, and pour extra-strength bleach down the loo. Your home should be a germ-free haven; but what about PCs, laptops and printers? AF International, leading manufacturer of specialist computer cleaning products, warns that neglecting electrical equipment can introduce harmful bacteria into the classroom - a warning backed by independent research.

A recent study carried out by microbiologists for Which? Computing magazine discovered that the debris found between keys on the average keyboard provide the ideal breeding ground for bacteria and illness-causing bugs including e-coli and Staphylococcus aureus, which in its worst form is known as MRSA!

AF's own intensive research supports these findings, revealing that only 1 in 20 PCs are cleaned regularly. AF's Foamclene and Maxiclene were shown to kill 99.9% of bacteria within only two minutes, so effectively that the bug free surface lasts up to 24 hours and the reduction in bacteria continues for 28 days.

In the classroom, equipment is shared constantly between children who are often more susceptible to illness, meaning AF's products are essential. As well as the PC, CD players, consoles and remote controls are all passed between sticky fingers, collecting grease, dust and crumbs as they go. A quick blast with the Airduster will take care of controls and keyboards while Lens-Clene can be used in laptops and music or entertainment systems, helping keep you and your pupils safe and healthy.
