Mitsubishi Electric introduce short throw display solutions
Published:  25 March, 2009

Mitsubishi Electric's Visual Information Systems division, a leading manufacturer of innovative, high quality display solutions, has introduced a range of short throw projectors and a specifically designed boom arm for easy installation within classrooms and meeting rooms that may have space limitations.

Both Mitsubishi's XD500U-ST and the new WD500U-ST utilize the latest DLPTM technology for a filter free projector, helping to reduce maintenance issues.  They also feature a long lamp life and side access for quick and easy lamp replacements.

The XD500U-ST is available in a standard white chassis or specifically for education an orange version is available. It features an XGA resolution (1024 x 768 pixels) and can produce an amazing 60" diagonal screen from a distance of just 33" from the display wall. The XD500U-ST also benefits from 2000 ANSI lumens of brightness and 2500:1 contrast ratio ensuring the reproduction of bright and accurate images.

Mitsubishi's newest short throw projector is the WD500U-ST a widescreen WXGA resolution (1280 x 800) solution. It too has been designed with an ultra-powerful short-throw lens which is capable of projecting a 60" diagonal image at a distance of just 28" from the screen. The WD500U-ST is equipped with a brightness of 2100 ANSI lumens, a sharp contrast ratio of 2000:1 and built with the latest colour enhancing technologies, the WD500U-ST produces vibrant detailed images and has been introduced to meet the increase in demand for widescreen solutions compatible with the latest WXGA computers, laptops and interactive whiteboards.

For easy installation a new boom arm has been specifically designed to support XD500U-ST and WD500U-ST projectors. Education applications in particular require, for health and safety purposes, that projectors are placed closer to interactive whiteboards to reduce the light from the projecting obstructions in both the tutor and pupils view. Fully adjustable it is also an ideal solution within meeting rooms with restricted space.

All Mitsubishi short throw projectors feature Mitsubishi's 6-segement colour wheel, BrilliantColorTM and Colour Screen Walls for immaculate colour projections. Utilising a wider colour spectrum (R,G,B,W,Y,C) enables more vivid colours and the colour screen wall function allows user to choose from a variety of different colour backgrounds and surfaces (Beige, Blue, Green, Pink, Black Board and Whiteboard background modes).

For security purposes, Mitsubishi's short throw projectors have been designed with a metal security bar and password lock, securing them from theft and unauthorised use.

Fraser McDonald, Mitsubishi UK Sales Manager said "Now offering a widescreen short throw projector and boom arm, users can make the most of their presentations, despite their surroundings".
