Shortlist for the Education Resource Awards announced
Teachers, educational institutions, businesses and individuals amongst the nominees
Published:  25 March, 2009

Wednesday 18 February 2009: The British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) and Affinity Media are pleased to announce the finalists of the eleventh Education Resource Awards. Honouring excellence within the education sector, the Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of teachers and educational institutions, along with educational suppliers and individual leaders.

The Education Resource Awards are one of a kind within the sector, as they are judged solely by teaching and education professionals, including headteachers and classroom teachers. Organised by BESA and Affinity Media, the Awards are considered one of the most prestigious accolades in the education sector, and teachers across the UK can be assured that resource and business award winners represent high quality, value-for-money and innovative solutions for schools.

Ray Barker, director of BESA comments: "Teaching professionals are very busy and do not always have time to find the perfect resource that offers new and innovative classroom solutions. What makes these Awards really different is that they focus on the resources, services and people that make a practical impact on learning and the day-to-day work of the teachers in the classroom.' "

Chris Milton, events director of Affinity Media adds: "We have been inundated with a huge number of impressive entries for all categories. Year on year, we are astounded by the vast array of creative resources and new ideas that are being developed for our sector to support all teachers within our school system."

The Education Resources Awards are sponsored by Berol, Findel Education, NES, Staedtler, and media partner The Education Guardian, and are supported by the National Association of Head Teachers, the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, and UK Trade & Investment.

The winners will be announced at a gala event to be held at The National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham on the second evening of The Education Show 2009, Friday 27 March 2009. If you would like to book a table at the event, please contact either Ray Barker of BESA on 0207 537 4997 or Chris Milton of Affinity Media on 01303 814 075.
