Soundbitelearning and BiBC Launch GCSEPod
Innovative portal makes portable learning a reality for UK students
Published:  09 January, 2009

Soundbitelearning, an innovative multimedia learning company, and BiBC, the UK's leading provider of digital distribution services, announce the launch of www.GCSEPod.co.uk, a new educational web portal. The site enables UK students to learn and revise for their GCSEs by downloading educational audio content to portable devices including iPods and mobile phones.

Using the portal, students can access an array of educational audio content spanning all GSCE subjects. The portal offers over 50 hours of exam board relevant content, covering English Language, Geography, History and Religious Education with immediate effect. Over the coming months the content database will expand to cover English Literature, , Science, Maths, French and Design and Technology, with each subject growing in scope and depth.

All content on the site is available to buy and download instantly in MP4 format along with supporting revision guides. Subjects are divided into topics and then into titles, which can be purchased from £1.95.

BiBC was selected by Soundbitelearning to implement the technology supporting the website and fulfil the entire purchase and download process behind the GCSEPod. The website is powered by MediaMasterTM, BiBC's acclaimed digital distribution platform, which enables organisations to launch own-branded digital services in a rapid and cost-effective way.

Paul Hague, Managing Director of BiBC, commented: "There is a clear shift occurring in the way young people consume information. Accessing information on the move is second nature to most teenagers so it's only natural for them to start integrating this into their studies. Soundbitelearning has realised this, and together we have managed to create a service that is both innovative and highly beneficial to students' education."
