Kruger Tissue launches ‘Green Handprint'
Published:  16 December, 2008

Kruger Tissue has launched its own ‘Green Handprint' programme which is designed to educate employees and customers by example.

Customers who buy 100% recycled hand towels, roll towels and toilet tissue and who want to back the initiative will be provided with ‘Green Handprint' stickers for their washroom dispensers.  This will communicate to staff and visitors that the business is actively green-aware and setting a responsible example by using products from recycled material.

Over 90% of the Kruger tissue range is made from 100% recycled paper of which over half is post-consumer waste - 50,000 tonnes of recycled paper saved from landfill.   All literature and packaging will now carry details of the percentage of recycled content that each product contains so customers have assurance that they are buying responsibly.

To support this initiative Kruger has launched an exciting new interactive website www.greenhandprint.co.uk    It is designed to inform by providing customers with information about its environmental policy and to educate by showing the role of recycling within the paper making process.  It is an educational tool designed to guide customers to environmentally friendly products.

To create best practice, environmental issues are discussed and information is shared by Kruger operations throughout the world.
