Lee, who has many years school cleaning experience, realised that his cleaning staff had just too much paid downtime whilst waiting for his usual brand of floor sealer and polish to dry. He told distributor Lancashire Hygiene of his hour or more wait between coats and was immediately recommended BETCO Hard as Nails.
One coat of this product, an internationally renowned floor seal and shine system, dries in around eight minutes - 15% of the time taken by traditional systems. This allows the operator to apply several coats in under an hour which is the time most products require between coats!
Lee Prescott's Kapital team not only cut out all downtime thus substantially reducing labour costs, but was able to complete the work in one brief session and get onto the next school. During the summer holidays his firm stripped and cleaned all the corridors and store cupboard floors at the Elm Tree Primary School in Skelmersdale and the changing and class rooms at Bishop Rawsthorne School near Chorley.
He said: The BETCO product is unbelieveable. I have never seen anything like it. Whatever the size of room or corridor that we had stripped, by the time we had applied the first coat to the area, it was dry ready for the next coat where we had started. It really is a fast and effective product with no time or product wasted as it comes in a sachet ready to fit into the system's back pack."
He added, "The back pack is brilliant because if you don't use all of the contents you can leave it there for next time as it is in an air tight container - there is no waste. Also, the wand can be rinsed between coats under the tap with no environmental problems, leaving it ready for the next coat. Other systems that use a mop and bucket application are so inpractical because half the time you can be spreading dirt.
Now on his seventh school conversion to BETCO, Lee and the Kapital team from Southport, Merseyside look forward to removing the winter grime from local school floors this year saying, "With BETCO everyone wins - the contractor, the operator and the school pupils."
