Frog has designed the website and portal for the pilot project in primary schools across West Yorkshire. The four schools driving the project are Brighouse High School, Salendine Nook High School, Castleford High School and Thornton Grammar School. The website encourages students and staff to work together on the F1 in Schools project. Teams can upload designs to share with other project members, view designs that have been created before and participate in discussion forums to encourage collaboration with other primary schools.
With the captivating appeal of F1TM in mind, the project aims to help change the perceptions of science, technology and engineering. The experience of collaborating, designing, manufacturing and testing a miniature gas powered F1TM car, is hoped to inform young people about potential careers in engineering, science, marketing, technology and F1TM.
Andrew Denford, Founder and Chairman of F1 in Schools explained: "F1 in schools has expanded across the globe and is now operating in over 30 countries. With the support of Frog we have been able to create a virtual learning portal, which the students involved in the challenge will have full access to, as well as a website dedicated to the pilot project."
Gareth Davies, Managing Director of Frog said: "We have designed the website and portal so that each child can have access to this exciting project. They each have their own personal area and a team area where they can upload their pictures, access their own inbuilt F1TM email and also their personal calendar. We are proud to be supporting F1 in Schools by offering a solution that allows students to express themselves practically and artistically."
