The Voluntary Aided Church of England state school provides education for 550 nine to thirteen year old students. The previous facilities for storing coats, bags and personal possessions on site were based on pegs and benches. These have now been replaced by a locker solution that provides a dedicated compartment for each pupil. Each locker is locked with a key provided to students for a full four year period against a returnable deposit. This system helps to reduce losses and the subsequent demand for replacement keys. The project has created a far tidier environment, reducing traffic through the school and satisfying relevant fire risk assessment obligations.
Each of the steel lockers benefits from Link Lockers' robust design - proven as ideal for installations in the educational environment. The units have been fitted with sloping tops to avoid the risk of material being allowed to gather on top of the locker units, and all lockers are supplied with BioCote anti-bacterial protection as standard. This technology is an integral element on all contact surfaces and is a proven contributory factor in reducing the risk of cross-contamination in busy, densely populated environments such as schools.
