Helping teachers manage pupils' behaviour
Published:  14 October, 2008

Treating Compelling Learning is a new one-day programme for teachers to help them manage the behaviour of their pupils.

It is being delivered across the UK in partnership with JBE Training and Development, a leading provider of professional development within the education and care sectors, which is part of The Witherslack Group.

It details practical skills proven to make learning more compelling and memorable. Mark Bowes, trainer and consultant at JBE Training and Development comments: "Many teachers who have participated in the programme have commented that focusing on dealing with challenging behaviour at source, rather than as a consequence has meant that those who often ‘act out' as a result of boredom or frustration do not reach the point where you have to deal with their negative interactions."

"We are also involved with the dissemination of mental toughness training for teachers. This programme looks to build on the enhanced delivery of the Creating Compelling Learning programme to provide teachers with the knowledge and skills to improve their resilience."
