D+T with ICT Education Show 2008
Hall 10 - Birmingham, NEC, Thursday 20 - Saturday 22 November 2008
Published:  12 September, 2008

Now in its 31st year, industry experts, teachers and students alike will once again descend on Birmingham's NEC for the 2008 D+T with ICT Education Show this November.

This year's show will feature more than 100 exhibitors and some great new developments while delivering a diverse, informative programme of free educational workshops and seminars, involving some of industry's leading experts.

The combination of Motorsport aerodynamics and CAD/CAM will make the new Formula One in Schools area a sure hit with any budding Lewis Hamiltons out there. F1 in Schools aims to raise the profile of engineering as a career through the CAD/CAM Design Challenge, a multi disciplinary challenge in which teams of students aged 10-18 deploy CAD/CAM software to design, test, manufacture and race miniature CO2 powered balsa wood F1 Cars. The Challenge inspires students to use IT to learn about physics, aerodynamics, design, manufacture, sponsorship and a range of other skills and apply them in a practical, imaginative competitive and exciting way. D+T 2008 will actually host one of the regional heats of the F1 in Schools Challenge 2008 at this years show on Thursday 20th November.

Visitors to the show can also look forward to the Bright Sparks Pavilion, an area which will host fledgling businesses and designers launching new ideas and showcasing innovative designs, which will give teachers and students an exclusive opportunity to try brand new products to the market.
