How green is your matting?
Published:  12 September, 2008

Due to their high dirt and moisture absorbance and reduced maintenance, Gripfit's serviced matting systems produce 87% less carbon emissions, just 0.38 tonnes of CO2 per annum per mat, compared with 3.17 tonnes of CO2 per annum for conventional laundered mats.

Matt Anderson, Managing Director of environmental consultancy, Green Planet Solutions said: "Gripfit is a great step forward for the matting industry. The innovative design not only helps companies to reduce their environmental impact, it will also save them money. As well as the dramatically reduced level of CO2, the reduction in cleaning requirements means less water and longer product usage too. Gripfit is a great example of a company that is addressing its environmental impact.'

Gripfit director Ben Colbourne said: "In today's eco-conscious world we have to look at ways of reducing our carbon footprint, but without compromising on health and safety."

Gripfit mats are highly absorbent, requiring far less laundering, but because they're also held securely in place by a low profile frame, they are compliant to BS8300 legislation, Disabled and Disability guidelines and the Health & Safety at Work Act. Gripfit enables companies to be green and compliant with the law, while protecting their customers' safety too.
