Binding and presentation equipment from Total Print Finishing Services
Published:  12 September, 2008

The binding of printed of documents in schools is an everyday occurrence. For pupils applying the finishing touches to assignments, projects and course notes, teachers collating reference documents for students and the departments in charge of marketing a school and producing prospectuses, presentation, practicality and of course costs are key. Total Print Finishing Services (Total PFS) has a range of binding and stapling products with which schools can give their internally produced documents a professional finish. By investing in a binding system schools can avoid the expense of using a copy shop or local printer, but remain confident that their printed documents are making the desired impression.

For the quick and easy binding of A4 and A5 documents, Total PFS has recently bolstered its range with the new Copy Binder 5, which is ideally suited to the education sector. The machine produces a highly attractive finish on documents from 5 to 330 pages thick, binding the spine using durable linen tapes which are available in five different colours. The strong linen strips and glue combination means books bound in this way are able to lay open flat on a desk, unaided and without damage being caused to the spine. This makes them easy to read and they can be used again and again by teachers and pupils.

The Copy Binder 5 offers the level of quality and speed demanded by print professionals in copy shops yet it requires no training to operate, works straight out of the box and is entirely safe for use in the classroom, staffroom or school print department. It is reliable and cost effective, and provides schools with the opportunity to reduce their spend on the outsourcing of document production while allowing them to produce attractive, professional looking printed items.

Another recent addition to the Total PFS range is the Skrebba family of staplers, also exclusive to Total PFS. Reliable, safe and easy to use, the Skrebba range of staplers can be used to produce a variety of documents, from booklets and brochures to comprehensive reports and proposals. They also represent real value for money. The Skrebba SK-242 Block, for example, is a pad stapler with a stapling capacity of 200 sheets, which is half the price of its nearest competitor and has the same functions and features. Similarly good value for money is the Skrebba SK-208 Ring. With a 50 sheet maximum capacity the SK-208 Ring supports both flat and saddle stapling and is also compatible with loop staples for the ring-binding and presentation of stapled booklets. Skrebba also manufactures high quality electric staplers, such as the footswitch-operated SK-732 Falz. For the quick and efficient production of brochures for promotional activity around events at school, the SK-732 Falz will flat and saddle staple up to 20 pages.
