The new scheme is called Advantage CPD lead by Partnerships for Learning in conjunction with NES Arnold. Workshops encompass a coherent programme of practical, informative and entertaining events that offer excellent value for money in a local setting.
With an emphasis on Maths, English and Science, the workshops fit with the core national curriculum and include training areas such as Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Art, Early Years, D&T, History, Geography, Music and RE.
There are a minimum of six courses per term in each venue (a total of 18 courses per year and therefore a total of 180 courses annually), reaching around 4,735 teachers in the first year.
To complement the local workshop provision, a programme of regional conferences, featuring top quality speakers discussing issues of national importance, are also planned. In total, there are around 12 of these events will be held each year (4 per term). Each local workshop is limited to a maximum of 35 participants and each regional conference hosts a maximum of 150 delegates.
