BWF-CERTIFIRE Fire Door and Doorset Scheme

In line with recent legislation, those responsible for fire safety in the education sector must ensure that fire doors are properly installed and maintained. Because fire doors work like any other door it's easy to forget that they need regular maintenance if they are to perform properly and save both lives and property.

The BWF-CERTIFIRE Fire Door and Doorset Scheme is ideally placed to help those responsible for fire safety understand how to check and maintain fire doors. The Scheme has published a comprehensive guide called ‘Fire Doors - the Burning Issues' which is downloadable from its website, as well as a handy pocket maintenance checklist.

All fire doors manufactured by BWF-CERTIFIRE Fire Door and Doorset Scheme members have undergone independent certification, a process which includes the testing of the door as a complete assembly at a UKAS approved testing facility.
